AIX

When did AIX get a real shell? Last time I was involved with an AIX box somewhat directly a few years ago, it had this weird esoteric interface that an elite few knew the right way to breath while requesting of the AIX deity to do their will.

We have this installer that is built around Ant (well, just an Ant script) and a good portion of our clients will want to install on an AIX (and some of them already are). Long story short, I was given access to an AIX box to make this thing work. And my jaw about hit the ground when I logged it. It had a bash shell! (Actually it was ksh, but bash was there too. I'm so attached to my tab completions... (Wish I had footnotes! 8) )) (phew).

Sometimes, things change for the better...

Agile Conferences in Australia

I'm looking for a good conference to attend in Australia on Agile practices. If not agile practices, then a topic that can include Agile practices. I thought there was something a few years ago, but I haven't had much luck trying to find something now. Any suggests?

Update: I've looked a bit harder and found a few conferences that may fit the bill -ish.

ASWEC 2007 - once I know what is there...
SDC - same as before

and I know that the SDC folks did an Agile conference in 2005, but nothing since.

What is often enough?

Apparently, Adrian and I have different ideas on this...

The real reason is that I've been busy with lots of stuff and migrated my server and broke blogger publishing.

But all is good again...

except I really need to get our editor integrated into this blog...
